Northern Graphite Corporation

Description

The Lac-des-Îles facility, now owned by Northern Graphite Corporation, is a graphite mine and processing plant located approximately 150 km northwest of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is North America's only significant producer of natural graphite and has been in operation for over 30 years. The facility includes an open-pit mine, an on-site processing plant, and tailings facilities. It has a maximum production capacity of 25,000 tonnes per annum of graphite concentrate and employs approximately 65 personnel. The facility processes mined graphite using conventional methods to produce high-quality graphite products of various sizes and purities. Northern Graphite acquired this asset from Imerys in April 2022 and is currently working on expanding its resources and extending the mine life. The company is in the process of completing a new reserve estimate that they believe will show potential to extend the life of the mine by eight years. The Lac-des-Îles facility is a key asset in Northern Graphite's portfolio, providing them with an established production base and customer network in the graphite market.
